We do provide 30 hours in our nursery from September 2022, from 9am until 3pm.

You can check if you are eligible at https://www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare

If you are interested and think you may be eligible please come into our school office and complete the forms.

15 Hours Free Childcare for 3 & 4 Year olds:

If your child attends for 15 hours, the day is split into two sessions:

Morning session 8:30-11:30 and Afternoon session 12:15-3:15

Snacks

Please be aware that your child will receive a healthy snack. Alongside this the children will receive free school fruit and vegetables. We provide milk to drink and they always have access to water.

There is no cost for this snack.

The Nursery is divided into learning areas where children undertake different activities.  E.g. The following areas:  reading, construction, quiet, creative, ICT, investigation, writing, malleable, water, sand and a home corner role play.

Children can learn independently or follow an adult led activity.  The children will be able to develop their learning indoors or outdoors. Resources have been carefully designed to be accessible, allowing children to choose the ones they need and return them after use.

All children will take part in the following activties throughout the day:

Snack time as a group

Focused activity

Independent learning time

Tidy up time

Story time

These activities do not have a set time, as they are determined by what the children are engaged in.

Every child’s learning is planned for in a personalised manner. We take their interests into consideration and aim to engage them to develop a lifelong love of learning.  We ensure we get to know your child and understand their individual needs.  We can access outside agencies for support if needed.

When children come into school their learning will be developed in seven areas:

Prime Areas

Personal Social and Emotional Development

Physical Development

Communication and Language

Specific Areas

Literacy

Mathematics

Understating of the World

Expressive Arts and Design

During their early years children learn most effectively through exploration, play and interaction with other children and adults.  This is reflected in the organisation of the day in the Foundation Stage class.  Learning is, however, very carefully planned and structured to ensure progression.

We provide activities to encourage early writing and reading.

To enable your child to develop further, we will send home information regarding our current learning/topic for you and your child to continue at home.
